How do I decide which assessment package is right for me?

Our Simple Assessment package is a good option if you have one main concern you would like assistance with. If you have more than one concern, we recommend our Complex Assessment package.

If you are unsure which option is right for you, our friendly team can advise you when making a booking.

How long do assessments take?

Simple Assessments take 30 – 60 minutes. Complex Assessments take 30 – 90 minutes and may involve more than one of our team members.

What is the cost for a therapist to travel to me?

Cost is based on the time it takes to travel from our local office to your home. We will discuss this with you when you make your booking and make sure you know the cost upfront.

What is an Occupational Therapist?

An Occupational Therapist (OT) is a registered allied health professional. Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages who have limitations following an injury, illness or other challenging circumstances. Using purposeful activities, interventions or equipment, Occupational Therapists support you so you can carry out your daily tasks, take care of yourself, and stay active.

Occupational Therapists can advise families and carers to help them support you to participate in social interactions and relationships.

Can I have a support person with me?

Yes. Everyone who uses Health and Disability Services in New Zealand has this right as per the Health and Disability Commissioner Code of rights.

We make it easy for whānau or support persons to be involved every step of the way. Telehealth can be used to include whānau or support persons in assessments and meetings. If you would like this option, please let us know when making your booking.

Can services be provided via Telehealth?

We can provide input and some assessment services via Telehealth. Some services are best provided in person so your therapist can complete a thorough assessment to provide the best recommendations. If you would like to discuss this option, please get in touch.
