APM pain management service

Our pain management program aims to help people reduce the impact of pain and disability by providing your patient with knowledge and skills to live well despite pain. We use evidence based practice to consistently deliver high quality rehabilitation, enabling our clients to have a better quality of life.

Our pain management service

Our pain management service is compiled of a two-step process:

Step one: pain triage

Your patient will receive an assessment by a member of our IDT, which may include:

  • Psychologist
  • Physiotherapist and/or occupational therapist
  • Pain physician
  • We may also recommend further input outside of the pain service, such as:
    • Clinical psychological services
    • Orthopaedic or medical services
    • Physiotherapy
    • Other services such as podiatry

Step two: pain service

We focus on helping patients get back to living.

Our approach includes:

  • Education
  • Exercise
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy
  • Mindfulness, meditation or yoga
  • Pain physician reviews
  • Group programs

Our APM team will contact your client to arrange an appointment and keep you updated on recommendations following initial assessment.
