Employment support services
APM delivers job placement and in-work support for individuals due for release from prison or who are serving community sentences
On behalf of the Department of Corrections, our services aim to support both employees and employers into cohesive work relationships.
We take time to get to know every individual we work with and tailor our services to their needs.
This can include:
- Preparing and tailoring a CV
- Assistance searching and applying for jobs
- Interview and presentation skills
- Motivation and confidence building
- Arranging transport to interviews
After gaining employment, we help employees learn their responsibilities and how to best perform in their role. This includes how to respond to questions or comments about their convictions and advice on keeping healthy. We support a positive relationship with their line manager and resolve any issues that may initially arise.
We can also help with:
- On-the-job coaching
- Maintaining positive relationships with their employees
- Tips for addressing concerns in the wider team
- Information to dispel myths about offenders
Individuals are referred to APM by Department of Corrections case managers and probation officers.
