Interview with Tracy - Employment Consultant, Greymouth

How long have you been working for APM WorkCare?

I have been working for APM WorkCare since October 2013.

Why did you choose to work in Employment Services and Vocational Rehabilitation?

The things that attracted me to this work are the fact that I work with a very diverse client base from Sole Parents, Health and Disability Clients and Jobseekers actively seeking employment and supporting ACC clients return to work. It is really interesting working in such a varied labour market and a huge geographical area. This is an interesting role and a quickly developing area of rehabilitation and also presents challenges in areas where employment opportunities are harder to find. I enjoy facilitating and delivering employment workshops for those clients looking to gain confidence in upskilling and future financial independence. We get to help people to achieve results ensuring we remain up-to-date with the latest best practice guidelines.

What do you like about working for APM WorkCare?

APM WorkCare is a great company to work for. It has a vocational focus and a shared passion among the team and management to assist people to remain in work or transition back into the workforce. No single day is ever the same.

Where can you be found when you are not working?

Being the best Nanny possible, I have a 4 and a half year old grandson whom likes to engage in lots of activities - he comes on many of our holidays and wakes me up at early in the morning just to play with the “Hot Wheels” collection!
