Our History

Established in 1994 by Ms Megan Wynne, APM commenced operations with three consultants based in Perth, Western Australia as a vocational rehabilitation agency accredited with WorkCover Western Australia and Comcare Australia.

APM's first steps were to provide vocational rehabilitation services in the workers compensation, compulsory third party motor vehicle insurance and life insurance sectors.

Key milestones in APM's history in New Zealand

  • 2011: commenced operations in New Zealand as APM Workcare
  • 2012: awarded a national contract to provide vocational rehabilitation services in New Zealand
  • 2015: acquired contracts to deliver concussion services in Otago and Southland
  • 2015: acquired a contract to deliver Complex Pain Assessments (CPA) services
  • 2015: acquired specialised health care service, Pelim

Key milestones in APM's company history

  • 1994: commenced operations
  • 1994-1999: developed statewide service reach in Western Australia
  • 2000: interstate expansion – to Darwin, Alice Springs, Hobart and Launceston
  • 2001: commenced operations in New South Wales and Canberra
  • 2002: commenced operations in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia
  • 2002: became a truly national company in Australia by having offices in every state and territory
  • 2002: won 90 per cent of a national tender to provide Work Capacity Assessments for clients of the Australian Government throughout Australia
  • 2002: appointed to major panels and won major national contracts with employers for occupational rehabilitation and counselling services
  • 2005: became ISO accredited on a national basis
  • 2006: awarded over 50 per cent of the Australian Government's Job Capacity Assessment contract, including in every Employment Service Area (with the exception of Christmas Island and the Cocos Islands)
  • 2006: launched Job Capacity Account services and secured 50 per cent market share within six months
  • 2007: awarded over 33 per cent of the Australian Government's Vocational Rehabilitation Services contract, covering 48 Employment Service Areas and 77 sites
  • 2009: awarded significant share of the Australian Government's Disability Employment Services contract (which commenced in March 2010)
  • 2009: awarded a large component of work as part of the National Panel of Assessors – for the provision of discrete assessment services, including the Workplace Modifications Scheme, Ongoing Support Assessment and Supported Wage System Assessment
  • 2010: APM expanded internationally
  • 2011: won first contract in the UK to provide employment services assessments
  • 2011: awarded an Australian Government contract to provide home-based aged care services in Queensland and New South Wales
  • 2013: took over Job Services Australia contacts from OEC (www.oec.org.au) in western NSW (Orana and Windermere)
  • 2015: APM became the largest provider of disability employment services in Australia
  • 2015: APM commenced delivery of the Australian Government's "jobactive" employment services program in nine regions
  • 2015: APM commenced delivery of the Australian Government's "My Aged Care Regional Assessment Service"
  • 2015: acquired Birmingham-based (UK) Pertemps People Development Group
  • 2017: Expanded market share in South Australia by purchasing jobactive and Disability Employment Services provider ARA Jobs
